Castor oil (also known as Ricinus oil) is a vegetable oil extracted by mechanical pressing of the Castor seed. It is pale-yellowish or almost colourless with a mild characteristic odour.

Applications Pharmaceuticals: Used as an emulsifying agent, solvent, and excipient in drugs and vitamins. Cosmetics and Skincare: Incorporated in products such as lipsticks, conditioners, moisturizers, and soaps due to its moisturizing properties. It is also used in formulations where a soothing and protective barrier is beneficial, like in lip balms and ointments. Food Industry: Sometimes used as a food additive due to its ability to act as a preservative and its anti-microbial properties. Industrial Applications: Employed as a lubricant in high-performance engines and other mechanical and industrial capacities.
